Who is Golf OS for?+
Golf OS is for people who play, the groups that keep the game going, and the organizers who bring everybody together. Keep score, understand your game, run weekly rounds, and manage outings, leagues, and tournaments in one place.
Do my friends need an account?+
No. Send one weekly-game link in the group chat you already use. Guests can answer Yes, No, or Maybe and leave a note in any browser. They can create an account later if they want to keep their own history and stats.
Do I need a website?+
No. Golf OS gives your group a share link, live game page, pairings, scoring, and results. You can keep using your existing website or group chat.
Can I use it for charity and corporate outings?+
Yes. Golf OS supports registration, waitlists, pairings, check-in, scoring, competitions, leaderboards, and finalized results. Event Pass purchasing is coming soon and is not available during BETA.
Does it calculate handicaps?+
Golf OS can calculate a clearly labeled, unofficial differential and Golf OS index when a complete round has verified course rating and slope data. It never labels that estimate as GHIN or an official USGA Handicap Index.
Can I accept event payments?+
Yes. Organizers can accept secure online registration payments through Stripe when enabled for their event. They can also record outside payments such as cash, check, Venmo, or Cash App with a reason and audit history. Golf OS plan and Event Pass purchasing is separate, coming soon, and not available during BETA.
Can people follow live scoring?+
Yes. Events can publish live leaderboards, competition standings, and Fan Play updates. Golfers control whether personal casual rounds are visible to followers.
Is there an app?+
Golf OS runs in your phone browser and can live on your Home Screen. Keep scoring when the signal drops; entries sync when your connection returns.
Can sponsors participate?+
Sponsors can support prizes and event experiences today through the organizer. A full sponsor storefront, hole-sponsor builder, and fulfillment workflow are planned for a later release.
Is Fan Play gambling?+
No. Fan Play is free. There is nothing to buy or risk, points have no cash value, and a missed pick costs nothing.
